A Place for New Beginnings

Ninevah Christian Church exists to be a part of the literal body of Christ on earth by sharing the good news with the lost, encouraging our brothers and sisters in Christ, reaching out to those in need, and transforming the community around us. 

We live in faith, hope, and service to the world around us. 

Ninevah is a place for new beginnings. We believe that God’s grace is available to you no matter what you’ve done or where you’ve been. Through His grace healing can be found, addictions can be faced, forgiveness can be experienced, marriages can be restored, and lives can be changed. 

Ninevah is also a place where it’s okay to not be okay. You don't have to fake perfection. You don't have to pretend you have it together. Just come as you are with your past, pain, challenges, and junk. God promises to meet you where you are, but He won't leave you there. He begins a work of transformation in your life.

Our Beliefs

What We Believe

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He exists eternally in three personalities: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. There is one God in three persons.

(Genesis 1:1, 26, 27; 3:22; Psalm 90:2; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

Jesus Christ lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to heaven’s glory and will return to earth again to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

(Matthew 1:22-23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5; 14:10-30; Hebrews 4:14-15; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Romans 1:3-4; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Timothy 6:14-15; Titus 2:13)

The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make us aware of our need for Jesus Christ. He lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation and provides Christians with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. We seek to live under His control daily.

The Bible is God’s Word to all people, written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living.

People are made in the spiritual image of God to be like Him in character. People are the supreme object of God’s creation. Although people have tremendous potential for good, they are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called sin. This attitude separates people from God.

Salvation is by grace, through faith. It is a gift from God to all people. We can never make up for our sins by self-improvement or good works. We are saved from sin’s penalty by trusting in Jesus Christ and His sacrifice as God’s offer of forgiveness. We show our faith publicly through baptism.

Eternity is how long we were created to exist with God. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is hell. To be eternally in union with Him is heaven. Heaven and hell are places of eternal existence.

Where does the Ninevah Christian Church stand on:

We do not believe the New Testament Church has replaced Israel (commonly known as Replacement Theology) in God’s divine plans to redeem the world. We believe God has invited the church to join Israel and the family of Abraham as the children of God…and that one day, after the church has been taken from the earth, God will again make one last call to the Jewish people during the Tribulation…revealing Jesus as their Jewish Messiah.

We do not believe in absolute pre-selection or predestination (commonly known as Calvinism). We believe the saving Gospel message of Jesus Christ is currently open to anyone and everyone. That’s why we continue to preach the Gospel to all. Those who hear the saving message of Jesus Christ, and choose to repent and receive that message as Truth, placing their faith in Jesus as Lord and Savior will be saved from God’s judgment and make peace with God the Father. God has given us the free will to “choose”, to believe, repent, receive and confess our faith in Jesus. That same free will remains with a believer after they come to faith…making it possible to reject the free gift of eternal life through unbelief, forfeiting the salvation of God that was freely offered through faith. Jesus made it clear that believers must maintain their faith to the very end to be saved, which proves that the free gift can be forfeited if the believer falls away from the faith.

We take a literal view of Biblical eschatology (end times prophecy). That literal view means that NCC believes in a literal rapture (caught up to be with the Lord) of the church before the 7-year Tribulation begins on the earth (pre-tribulation rapture). We believe the raptured church will return (in resurrected/eternal bodies) with Jesus at the end of Tribulation to reign with Jesus on the earth in the Millennial Kingdom (1,000 years) of Christ (pre-millennial). That 1,000-year reign of Jesus on the earth from the throne of David in Jerusalem will be followed by the eternal Kingdom of God on the New Heaven and the New Earth. 

(1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, Daniel 9:21-27, Mark 13:12-20, Revelation 20:1-6, Revelation 21:1-4)

These three issues, though somewhat controversial, are not salvation issues. We are not saved or lost because of our positions on Replacement Theology, Predestination or our Premillennial Eschatology. Again, these three issues are not salvation issues, but interpretation of Scripture can be a salvation issue on other more serious points. That’s why we challenge everyone to be careful and diligent regarding the handling of the “Word of Truth”. 

2 Timothy 2:15 (NLT)  15 Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive his approval. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth.  

We do not require members of NCC to affirm these three positions to attend or become members of the church. However, these are the positions of the church that have been established by our eldership and we ask our members to give these issues and our leadership their proper respect. 

However, the position of universalism is different than the other three. We believe the teaching of universalism is an unholy demonic doctrine and those who promote this teaching will be asked to repent and renounce universalism or they will be asked to leave the church because this yeast/sin could poison the whole batch of dough. 

NCC believes the doctrine of “universalism” is a false teaching…the doctrine of demons. This doctrine promotes the idea that God’s love is greater than man’s sin and God will somehow, eventually save everyone and there is no eternal death or hell. This demonic doctrine removes the need for “repentance” which is also a demonic teaching in direct opposition to the teachings of Jesus and the Apostles. The Bible clearly teaches that there is no forgiveness without repentance and that hell is a real place for all who reject Jesus as Lord and Savior.
