Scoffing Bible Prophecy
The Bible is a prophetic book. It reveals the future in advance so that those who read it will see it as more than just a history book. God reveals the future to people so they will know that He alone is God.
Isaiah 46:9-10 (NLT)
Remember the things I have done in the past. For I alone am God! I am God, and there is none like me. 10 Only I can tell you the future before it even happens. Everything I plan will come to pass, for I do whatever I wish.
Isaiah 42:8-9 (NLT)
“I am the LORD; that is my name! I will not give my glory to anyone else, nor share my praise with carved idols. 9 Everything I prophesied has come true, and now I will prophesy again. I will tell you the future before it happens.”
The same truth regarding prophecy is revealed in the New Testament Church Age.
John 13:19 (NLT)
I tell you this beforehand, so that when it happens you will believe that I AM the Messiah.
So, here comes my question…Based on the above Scriptures, why would anyone dare to scoff at Bible Prophecy? Answer…Satan doesn’t want people to know the future. Satan has the power to blind the minds of people so they can’t or won’t see the future that God has announced in advance.
2 Corinthians 4:3-4 (NLT)
If the Good News we preach is hidden behind a veil, it is hidden only from people who are perishing. 4 Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.
Can you see the danger? Can you see the warning about scoffing at Bible Prophecy? The spirit of antichrist is currently working alongside the Holy Spirit of Christ on this present earth. The antichrist spirit is deceiving and distracting, while the Holy Spirit is revealing and focusing on the truth. Two spirits, one that takes a person away from God and the other that draws a person to God. The Apostle Paul warns the church about stifling or quenching the Holy Spirit regarding Truth and Prophecy.
1 Thessalonians 5:19-22 (NLT)
Do not stifle the Holy Spirit. 20 Do not scoff at prophecies, 21 but test everything that is said. Hold on to what is good. 22 Stay away from every kind of evil.
Conclusion…Jesus is the center of all Bible prophecy. Do you see it? Everything written is to reveal the future Kingdom of Christ. All of creation is heading toward one glorious event, the coming Kingdom of Jesus Christ, and Satan doesn’t want you to know it.
Still not convinced? Notice the recorded ending of the heavenly Wedding Feast of the Lamb.
Revelation 19:9-10 (NLT)
And the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding feast of the Lamb.” And he added, “These are true words that come from God.” 10 Then I fell down at his feet to worship him, but he said, “No, don’t worship me. I am a servant of God, just like you and your brothers and sisters who testify about their faith in Jesus. Worship only God. For the essence of prophecy is to give a clear witness for Jesus.”
To scoff at Bible prophecy is to scoff at Jesus himself, for he is the essence and fulfillment of all Bible Prophecy.
I tell you this beforehand, so that when it happens you will believe that I AM the Messiah. JESUS CHRIST
