Supernatural Words

Reading the Bible is not like reading other books. Reading the Bible is a supernatural experience, an encounter with the Spirit of God. Do you believe that? Reading the Bible exposes the supernatural Spirit-Light of Truth to the darkness of our sin-filled human nature. Do you believe that?

I’ve often thought that our eyes and ears are the portals to our souls. We can allow darkness to come into those portals, or we can enable a supernatural Spirit-Light to enter.

Jesus says the Word is Spirit. Think about that for a moment. The Word of God, the Bible, is Spirit, not ink on a page, but Spirit. That means the Bible is alive and supernatural. Supernatural refers to something beyond the natural realm of man.

John 6:63 (NLT)

The Spirit alone gives eternal life. Human effort accomplishes nothing. And the very words I have spoken to you are spirit and life.

The Words of Jesus are Spirit! Spirit power is above and beyond human power. That’s why the Spirit power of the Word is supernatural and eternal, beyond the natural realm of man.

The Hebrew writer refers to the Bible as alive and powerful, cutting all the way to the depths of the human soul. That is supernatural. No other book can do that.

Hebrews 4:12 (NLT)

For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.

This Supernatural Spirit-Word can cut two ways in the hands of man. First, it can give us a hunger and thirst to expose our souls more and more to the supernatural Spirit of God. Or, it can have the opposite effect. There is another spirit power (Satan) that tempts us to stay away from the Spirit-Word of truth, refusing to allow the Light to penetrate the darkness of the human soul.

John 3:20-21 (NLT)

All who do evil hate the light and refuse to go near it for fear their sins will be exposed.

21  But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants.”

God gave the Spirit-Word to save us, not condemn us. We were condemned already. My challenge today…Open the portal and drink in the Spirit that brings eternal life.

And the very words I have spoken to you are spirit and life. JESUS CHRIST
